In 2007, Snoop Doggy Dogg became the first artist to release the track as the ringtone before its release as a single - The D.O.G. Became this song. In the spring of 2008, the musician presented his new full length Ego Trippin to the audience. Originally, Snoop Doggy Dogg planned an album free of star guests.

When Dr. Dre introduced this Long Beach native to the world in 1992, Snoop (Doggy) Dogg became an instant Hip Hop legend. Snoop’s quadruple platinum debut album Doggystyle still is considered one of the biggest albums in Hip Hop, ever. And even though Snoop never equaled Doggystyle, and even if some of his other thirteen albums are more miss than hit, Snoop Dogg will forever be recognized as one of Hip Hop greatest figures.

15. Doggy Dogg World ft Tha Dogg Pound, Nanci Fletcher & The Dramatics (1993)

Snoop’s debut album is and will most likely always remain his magnum opus. An all-time classic, filled with classic joints. This is just one of the many stand-out tracks from the timeless Doggystyle.

14. Vapors (1996)

From what is perhaps one of the most disappointing sophomore albums in the history of Hip Hop – Tha Doggfather – this remake of and homage to Biz Markie‘s 1988 classic undoubtedly is one the highlights. (Look for Biz Markie’s cameo in the video around the 4-minute mark).

13. Candy (Drippin' Like Water) ft E-40, M.C. Eiht, Goldie Loc, Daz & Kurupt (2006)

One of the singles of the excellent Tha Blue Carpet Treatment album. Catchy chorus, great guest spots of a bunch of West Coast legends – what’s not to like?

12. Lodi Dodi (1993)

Another remake of and tribute to an absolute Hip Hop classic. A brilliant West Coast version of Doug E Fresh and Slick Rick’s “Ladi Dadi” from 1985.

11. Lay Low (2000)

Doggy

“Lay Low” is a dope track from Tha Last Meal, Snoop’sfifth album (and last of three on the No Limit label). Although Tha Last Meal was nowhere near the level of Doggystyle, it was a return to form somewhat, compared to the disappointing Tha Doggfather and Snoop’s first two not-so-great No Limit albums.

“Lay Low” is a classic cut, as are most tracks blessed with hooks delivered by the late, great Nate Dogg.

10. Tha Shiznit (1993)

“Tha Shiznit” is just one of the tracks on Doggystyle that exemplifies what a collaboration between two of the West Coast all-time greats at the height of their skills can lead to. A perfect Dre beat and Snoop rhyming at his best – this is classic material.

9. Vato ft B-Real (2006)

One of the highlights from what is arguably Snoop’s second best album: Tha Blue Carpet Treatment. Unlike some of its predecessors, this album was consistent throughout and reminiscent of the vibe that made Doggystyle so special.

“Vato” is a Neptunes-produced track with a perfect nasty beat, complemented by Snoop’s lyrics & smooth flow, and B-Real’s catchy hook. A legitimate ‘gangsta’ banger, which addresses gang violence between black and latino gangs and calls for racial unity.

8. I Wanna Rock (2009)

From Snoop Dogg’s tenth album Malice n Wonderland, which was a bit of a mixed bag and not one of Snoop’s strongest albums. This track works though, just gotta love that hook with the sample from Rob Base’s 1988 classic “It Takes Two”.

7. Who Am I? (What's My Name) (1993)

With this lead single off his debut album Doggystyle, Snoop firmly established himself as Hip Hop’s newest top dog. Classic track from a classic album.

6. Beautiful ft Pharrell (2003)

One of the prime examples of the great synergy Snoop had with Pharrell and the Neptunes production team. “Beautiful” is an excellent, radio friendly track from Snoop’s solid sixth album Paid Tha Cost To Be Da Boss, and one of Snoop’s greatest hits. Great video too.

5. Imagine ft Dr. Dre & D'Angelo (2006)

The best track of one Snoop’s best albums, 2006’s Tha Blue Carpet Treatment. A typical Dr Dre instrumental and some memorable lyrics from both Snoop and Dre – their first record together in a long time. Underrated.

4. GZ & Hustlaz (1993)

Not one of the major singles off his epic debut Doggystyle, but one of the best tracks of that excellent album nevertheless. Snoop Doggy Dogg at his very best.

3. Murder Was The Case (1993)

Snoop Dogg 220 Album

Another early Snoop Dogg classic, with top notch production from Dr Dre to back up the (almost auto-biographical) storytelling. Timeless.

2. Drop It like It’s Hot (2004)

Once again Pharrell’s golden touch ensures a mega-hit for Snoop Dogg: “Drop It Like It’s Hot” gave Snoop his first US No 1 single. The simple but thumping beat and eminently recognizable tongue-clicking backdrop guarantee its massive mainstream appeal, but despite its crossover success, this track is hard as hell. The absolute centerpiece of Snoop’s underrated 2004 album R&G (Rhythm & Gangsta): The Masterpiece.

1. Gin & Juice (1993)

The quintessential Snoop Doggy Dogg song. “Gin and Juice” is the second single from his debut album Doggystyle. Expectations for Snoop’s debut album were sky-high after his performances on Dr Dre’s The Chronic, and with Doggystyle Snoop (and Dre) delivered, and then some.
